At the beginning of class, we took a look at websites that past senpais had created. They included short intro videos talking about each of their news. Our group has also decided that each of us film a 1-minute video introducing our topics. Moreover, the design of the website was simple and clean, making it look professional. A few of the websites had book review tabs, which I found curious. Not only is the content salient for websites, but also the color scheme and designs that attract the audience. Furthermore, we divided jobs and were each in charge of different areas. The jobs consisted of making the logo, coming up with a slogan, website designs, and video edits. After a lengthy discussion, we settled on a team name, "Reality Reports". We wanted to include alliteration and emphasize the main purpose of our website. We aim to rectify information and keep people updated with accurate information. Therefore, reporting reality matched our intentions. We consulted on whether we should go with the name "robust reports". However, our team members all found the name a little strong and unbefitting. In addition, our color scheme is mainly pastel, and creating a banner that fits the overall color scheme is surprisingly difficult.
Coming up with a piece of news to expose, is strenuous since the majority of such information is not on the internet. As Mr.Paterson had mentioned, I went on Twitter hoping to find something suspicious. Nonetheless, most of them were opinions, rather than statistics, which made it difficult to differentiate trustable information. I found a tweet that said "LUSH have synthetic dies and fragrances n their products. which are all tested on animals." However the official website of lush mentions that they do not have any connections with other suppliers that test on animals. Due to the lack of evidence on Twitter, I was unsure whether or not it was started with true evidence. I am still trying to decide on a specific topic to report, and planning on communicating with my team members to receive some advice.
